Museo Nacional de Antropología is one of the largest and most visited museums in Mexico. Situated in the heart of Mexico City, the museum holds an array of prehispanic artifacts from the Aztec, Maya, Olmec and other ancient Meso-American cultures. It's home to an impressive collection of cultural and archaeological artifacts, from Mexico's diverse indigenous peoples. Permanent exhibitions provide visitors with detailed information about the various indigenous peoples, their traditional beliefs and practices, as well as the country's history. The building itself is an impressive sight, and the large outdoor plaza is filled with sculptures and other attractions. Visitors are sure to be impressed by the vast and impressive collection of prehispanic figures, pottery, temple stones, masks, weapons, musical instruments, and even a replica of the Templo Mayor (Aztec pyramid). Visitors can also find an exhibition focusing on the role of women in different cultures.
