The Museo dell'Arte Vetraria Altarese in Altare, Italy, is a much-loved museum of glasswork, focusing on the fine and decorative art of glassworking by the local Altarese glass artisans. The museum houses a wide variety of works, including 16th and 17th century pieces, as well as a substantial collection of Art Nouveau objects. It's a great place to learn about the history of alternative glass art in the area, as well as to view some marvellous pieces of glass art for yourself. The museum isn't too large so it won't take up your whole day, and it also has an interactive multimedia area which is great for those who want to immerse themselves in the craft.
