📍 From Courtyard, Spain
Museo de Bellas Artes de València occupies the historic Colegio de San Pío V beside the Turia Gardens and the Jardines del Real, just north of the old city. Its galleries trace Valencian art from elaborate Gothic altarpieces to Renaissance and Baroque painting, with notable works by Joan de Joanes, Ribalta, Pinazo and Joaquín Sorolla, alongside other Spanish masters. The building is part of the experience: a long, restrained façade, arcaded courtyards and the former seminary church’s blue-tiled dome create strong symmetry and a distinctive profile. From the former riverbed, the pale architecture and ceramic dome stand out against palms, trees and open sky.
