The Museo de Arte de Tigre (Tigre Museum of Art) is located in Paseo Victorica, in the small city of Tigre, located in the northern suburbs of Buenos Aires, Argentina. This museum was founded in 1929, by Damian Castelnuovo, and is housed within the district’s Government House. The museum holds an extensive collection of art, ranging from modern and contemporary painting and sculpture, to works from the beginning of the twentieth century. The main focus of the museum is to promote and preserve a wide range of Argentinean art, mainly belonging to and related to artists from the province of Buenos Aires. The museum’s extensive collections include paintings by artists such as Martín Malharro, César Martínez, Antonio Seguí and Roberto Aizenberg, as well as sculptures by Alberto Heredia, Alfredo Bigatti and Lino Enea Spilimbergo, among others. In addition, the museum also hosts different temporary exhibitions throughout the year.
