The Museo Arqueológico Nacional in Madrid, Spain is a must-see for history and archaeology buffs. It is a unique museum with tens of thousands of archaeological artefacts from all over the world. With artefacts from the Stone Age to the 18th Century, the museum contains an extensive collection of jewellery, sculptures, coins and mosaics. Established in 1867, the museum was initially housed in the Royal Palace, and is now situated in a separate building on Madrid's Serrano Street. It also contains one of Spain's largest coin collections, and an impressive library where visitors can learn more about the different cultures on display. The museum also runs specialised temporary exhibitions throughout the year, providing visitors with the chance to discover even more.
