The Musée du Sucre d'Orge (Museum of Sugar Beets) is a wonderful place to visit and learn about the sugar beet industry in France. The museum consists of two sections, one detailing the history of sugar beet production in the Loire Valley, and the other dealing with its cultural and religious aspects. The museum features interactive exhibitions and educational activities, as well as a children’s area. Visitors can take a guided tour in the sugar beet factory, learn about the refining process and discover the museum’s rich collection of paintings, photographs, documents and objects related to the sugar industry. Outside the museum there is a beautiful garden and park, which is perfect for picnicking and relaxing. The museum also organises various festivals and special events throughout the year.
