📍 New Zealand
Muriwai Gannet Colony is one of New Zealand’s most amazing sights. Located on the windswept coast of Auckland, it is home to over 3,000 gannets. Every year, between August and March, the gannets return to the colony to breed and tend to their chicks. The colony is accessible year-round, allowing travelers and photographers to experience a unique slice of nature. From the cliffs above, you can witness thousands of birds in their nesting grounds and soaring through the skies. The views of the wild coastline, with its dramatic rock formations, crashing waves and a spectacular sunset, create a breathtaking backdrop for a visit to the colony.
