Mozartsteg
📍 Austria
Mozartsteg is an elegant Art Nouveau pedestrian bridge crossing the Salzach River in Salzburg’s Old Town. Built in 1903, it once required a small toll, but was later opened free to all. Named in honor of the city’s beloved composer, this slender iron structure offers a scenic shortcut linking the historic center to the Kapuzinerberg hillside. Its location provides travelers with memorable views of Old Town’s baroque skyline and a picturesque setting for photos. Just steps away from major landmarks like Mozartplatz and the DomQuartier, the Mozartsteg also appears near filming sites of “The Sound of Music.” Surrounded by cafés and shops, it’s an ideal spot to pause, admire the river, or explore further along the Salzach promenade.
