Mount Yōtei (also known as Ezo Fuji) is an iconic stratovolcano in Japan’s Northern Island of Hokkaido. It looms majestically above the towns of Kutchan and Niseko, providing incredible views of the surrounding countryside. Rising to a height of 1890 meters, the mountain is a popular destination for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts from around the world. It’s also home to some of Japan’s best ski areas. The area around Mount Yōtei has numerous walking trails, including the well known Yōtei “Annupuri” trail. This trail is especially popular for its incredible views of Kutchan and Niseko in the winter months. Yōtei is also known for its magnificent sunrises and sunsets. The majestic mountain is also well known for its hot springs, and Kutchan even possesses a natural hot spring known as the “Niseko Onsen”. Mount Yōtei makes for a spectacular destination no matter the season, and is sure to leave a lasting impression.
