Mount Hood
📍 From Drone, United States
Mount Hood is Oregon’s highest peak, a glacier-clad stratovolcano rising above Government Camp in the Cascade Range. The village sits on its southern flank, closely linked to the mountain’s skiing and climbing culture. Higher on the same slope, Timberline Lodge preserves the massive stonework, timber construction, and handcrafted details of a 1930s public-works project. Hood’s recognizable profile combines a jagged summit with broad snowfields and dark forested lower slopes, giving photographs a strong contrast of textures and scale. At nearby Trillium Lake, still water can mirror the mountain above a fringe of conifers, placing its rugged volcanic form within a distinctly Pacific Northwest landscape.
