Mount Elbrus is the highest peak in Europe, located in the Caucasus Mountains of Southern Russia. Its two peaks - the East and the West Summit - rise 18,510 feet (5,642 meters) above sea level. It is a beloved destination for mountaineers, hikers and climbers from around the world who come to take on the challenge of scaling its slopes. Mount Elbrus is part of the Seven Summits - the highest mountains on each continent - and is considered the easiest of the seven to climb. The Terskol base camp located at the foot of Mount Elbrus provides climbers with accommodation and the best facilities to start their ascent. Adventurers who visit this region can take a walk on the paths of the area, which offers great views of the Caucasus mountain range. There are several lakes and rivers within close proximity of Elbrus, and visitors can see the amazing array of wildlife within the region. On clear days, the magnificent silhouette of Elbrus can be seen from miles off, making it a picturesque destination for all nature lovers.
