Morskie Oko (“Eye of the Sea”) is the largest and fourth deepest lake in the Tatras mountains in Poland. This stunning alpine lake is surrounded by the impressive wild panoramas of the High Tatras. It's the popular starting point for hikes up to the ridge, Rysy, reaching 2,499 m at its peak. The lake is known for its beauty and emerald-green waters, making even the most experienced hiker speechless as they take in the incredible views around. Along the lake’s shores are small villages which feature traditional Polish mountain architecture and food. Explorer, walkers and photographers can also find the largest Polish mountain resort, Zakopane, only an hour away. Morskie Oko should not be missed.
