
Morris Island Lighthouse is an iconic destination situated in Folly Beach, South Carolina, United States. Built in 1876, the lighthouse guides sailors through the treacherous waters near Charleston Harbor. The lighthouse stands on a small sandbar off the coast and is an iconic landmark in the Charleston region, and also a popular photographic subject. Visitors can take a ferry or a private boat to the island, and although no tours are currently offered, the lighthouse is still open for visitors to walk around the premises. On the island there is also a small chapel, several historic ruins, and trails for wildlife observation and photography. This iconic landmark is open year round and provides a wonderful backdrop for unforgettable memories.
