Monumento al Marinaio is a gorgeous memorial overlooking the Gulf of Taranto in Southern Italy, dedicated to the Italian Navy's fallen sailors. The monument is composed of a tall column on a stepped base, topped by a metal figure of a sailor in his dress uniform. A large metal chainsaw at the base of the column represents the eternal spirit of the brave sailors who have passed away. It's a powerful and emotional memorial of tribute which every visitor to Taranto should take the time to experience.
