Monumento ai Partigiani, located in Bologna, Italy, is a memorial dedicated to the Partisans of the Resistance Movement during the Second World War. It was constructed in 1999 and designed by the internationally renowned architect Angelo Biancini. The monument consists of a central obelisk, surrounded by a ring of 24 columns symbolizing Italy's 24 regions and supported by an ellipsoidal concrete hearth covered with bronze plates. The obelisk is inscribed with the motto of the Italian republic, 'l’Unità fa la Forza'. Also, there are statuettes depicting three Resistance fighters which sit atop the obelisk, representing a woman, a man, and a child. The monument has become a site of remembrance, honor, and reflection for the citizens of Bologna and its visitors.
