Monument to Victor Emmanuel II and Terrazza Belvedere del Palatino in Rome make up the Capitoline Hill. The Palatine Hill was one of the first seven hills of Rome and was home to the wealthiest families in the city. The monument was constructed in 1895 to celebrate the unification of Italy and is surmounted by a bronze statue of Victor Emmanuel II. The Terrazza Belvedere del Palatino also offers the best views over the city, including the Colosseum, St. Peter's dome and the Roman Forum. This place is a must for history buffs and photographers.
