
The Monument to Stefan Nemanja, also known as 'The Monument of the Millennium' is a stunning landmark located in downtown Belgrade, Serbia. Dedicated to the founder of the Serbian state, Stefan Nemanja (1113-1203), the monument consists of multiple levels resulting in a height of 33.5 metres.At the foundation of the monument is a marble arch, above which stands a bronze equestrian figure of Stefan Nemanja atop a horse, along with two angels on either side. The monument is crowned with the shape of a cross. This Monument was designed by the sculptor Viktor Osiotsky and celebrated the return of an independent Serbia in 2006. A remarkable landmark, the Monument to Stefan Nemanja is a must-see for visitors to Belgrade.
