Monte Viso is a mountain located in the Piedmont region of northern Italy. It stands at an impressive 3,841 metres above sea level and is the tallest mountain in the Cottian Alps chain. Its summit is easily accessed via cable car from the town of Crissolo, which is located a short drive from the ski resort of Prato Nevoso.

From the summit, visitors can enjoy stunning views of the Alps and surrounding mountains. On a clear day, it is possible to see as far as the Mediterranean Sea. The mountain terrain is also extremely varied, ranging from rugged rocky trails to wide, open meadows filled with wildflowers during the summer months. If you’re looking for somewhere away from the hustle and bustle of city life, Monte Viso is the perfect place for a peaceful hike. There are well-marked trails that can take you from trails from high alpine passes down to beautiful waterfalls and glacial lakes. There are also a variety of huts, shelters and refuges if you’re looking for a place to take refuge in inclement weather. In addition to its natural beauty, Monte Viso also offers a wealth of cultural attractions, including the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Viso and several churches that date back centuries. All in all, this mountain is an ideal destination for anyone looking to get away in the Italian Alps.
