Monte Villatoya is an historical and naturally beautiful site near Villatoya, Spain. It is the highest spot in the province and offers sweeping views of the picturesque rolling hills, fields and olive trees that make up the countryside. At the summit you can find an ancient castle of Monte Villatoya set amongst untouched olive groves. It is worth a climb as you will likely have the entire summit to yourself, but remember to bring water and snacks as there is no food or drink for sale nearby. From here, there are excellent vantage points for many spectacular sunrises and sunsets. For the adventurous traveler, it is possible to explore nearby villages or traverse the nature trails through lush Mediterranean forests. There is no shortage of incredible photo opportunities - get ready for your camera roll to be filled with amazing images to take home!
