Monsaraz, a village in Évora district of Portugal, is situated on the top of a hill, rich in olive groves. It has a truly medieval feeling, with its white-washed houses, narrow cobbled streets, castle ruins and slumbering livestock in its boulevards. It is one of the most spectacularly preserved medieval villages in Portugal and is known as the 'Guardian of the Alentejo'. Here you can find some iconic architecture, stunning landscapes with sweeping views towards the Spanish border, as well as a rich cultural heritage.
