The Monasterio de Sant Pere de Rodes is an architectural gem situated on the top of Mount Escobas, in Catalonia, Spain. It is visible from many miles around and stands as a reminder of its past as a Benedictine monastery. Visitors to the site can explore its historic cloisters and towers that date back to the 9th century. The remodeling of the monastery grounds in the 11th century added a series of defensive walls, which remain today. Inside the grounds, the Gothic and Romanesque-style architecture of the monastery's church are particularly stunning.
