The windmills of Campo de Criptana are a symbol of the town and an important part of its identity. The windmills, built between the 16th and 17th centuries, were used to grind grain as the mountainous terrain limited arable land. Today, the mills are part of a monument and tourist attraction in the town. Visitors can walk around the windmills and take in picturesque views of the undulating fields below.
