Möhne Reservoir

The Möhne Reservoir, located in the German town of Möhnesee, is one of the largest reservoirs in Germany. The reservoir was built between 1908 and 1914, and is located in the centre of the Möhnetal Nature Park. The lake offers excellent opportunities for swimming, sailing, fishing and windsurfing, and the surrounding area has some scenic paths and trails for walking and biking. The lake is surrounded by wooded hills and there are a number of lookout points around the lake offering excellent views. The lake is also home to many birds, including herons and coot, and is a great spot for bird watchers. A number of historic and cultural attractions are also located in the region, including a castle and several old churches.
