Miradouro do Chão do Loureiro is a secluded view point located in the center of Lisbon, capital of Portugal. Set atop a small hill, the viewpoint provides a stunning panorama of the city and the Tagus River. The origin of the name dates back to 1813, when the hill was named after a battle during the Peninsular War: the Battle of Chão do Loureiro. The terrace is a great place to stop and admire the views, take a break or even have a picnic surrounded by nature. This viewpoint is especially peaceful and idyllic; it is filled with surprisingly lush greenery, especially during summer months. There is a quaint flower garden with stellar views at the top. The best way to access this viewpoint is on foot – it will bring you closer to nature and allow you to fully savor the beauty and scenery.
