The Metropolitan Expressway Route 11 Daiba Line links the Shibaura waterfront in Minato City with Odaiba and Ariake across Tokyo Bay. Its most recognizable stretch occupies the upper level of Rainbow Bridge, above the local road and Yurikamome railway. From Shibaura, the roadway curves toward the bridge’s white suspension towers, placing moving traffic against the water and Tokyo’s waterfront skyline. The expressway is for vehicles, but Rainbow Bridge has a separate pedestrian walkway.
