Merton College Chapel, located in Oxfordshire, UK, is a stunning Gothic chapel, linked with one of the famous colleges – Merton College of Oxford University. It is known for its remarkable mediaeval architecture with impressive stone and wood carvings. Built-in 1167, the chapel has some of Oxford's finest stained glass, including one by renown stained glass artist Sir Laurence Whistler. Apart from the beautiful interior, there is also an intriguing history behind the chapel, evident in many of its features, such as the panelled parclose-screen which separates the chancel from the nave. Visitors can explore the chapel's gardens and cloisters and take in the architectural delights up close.
