The Memorial to the Victims of the Berlin Wall is located in the Bernauer Strasse section of Berlin, Germany. This memorial consists of a few sections, each dedicated to the various life stages of the Berlin Wall. There is the Chapel of Reconciliation, the Documentation Center, the Chapel of Nations, and the column of Remembrance. Visitors can learn more about the history of the wall and how it was constructed. The Documentation Center holds photos, videos, and information on the oppressive regime that the East German government enforced. The Chapel of Reconciliation is a contemplative place dedicated to those who lost their lives in attempts to cross the wall. It also stands in honor of those who served for the reunification of Germany. The Chapel of Nations is a modernistic structure that invites people of all nations to remember the atrocities that occurred due to the wall's existence. Finally, The Column of Remembrance is an imposing monument to all of those whose lives were cut short because of the wall.
