The Memorial Hall for the Incheon Landing Operation stands on elevated ground in Yeonsu-gu, south of central Incheon. It commemorates Operation Chromite, the United Nations amphibious landing of September 1950 that broke the Korean War’s early momentum and opened the way to the recapture of Seoul. Displays place the assault within Incheon’s difficult coastal geography, shaped by extreme tides, narrow channels and sea walls, while outdoor exhibits include military aircraft, vehicles and artillery. A tall stone monument, broad stairways and rows of national flags give the grounds a formal, symmetrical character; wider views connect this military history with Incheon’s modern urban skyline.
