
Meißen Cathedral (Dom St. Marien) is a Romanesque-style church located in the city of Meißen, Germany. It was built in the 12th century and is famous for its unique history and architecture. The cathedral is renowned for its distinctive medieval architecture, including Gothic towers, turrets, and spires. Its ornamental facade is complemented by its richly-ornamented interior, with intricate woodcarvings, biblical frescoes, and artwork. One of its most infamous features is the so-called 'Devil's Chair', a throne-like seat located in the crypt. Visitors can admire the remarkable cathedral from the viewpoint of the nearby Castle Hill and explore the spectacular interior. The crypt is another must-see, thanks to its numerous exhibits and sculptures.
