Mausoleo Cadorna and Piazza Giuseppe Garibaldi located in Verbania, Italy, make for an interesting sightseeing combo. The Mausoleum, built in 1924 to honor General Luigi Cadorna, is a baroque masterpiece of white marble with a marble fountain and an archway at its center. Inside, the sarcophagi of Cadorna's parents, his brothers and his daughter can be seen. In the Piazza Giuseppe Garibaldi, visitors can find a large monument built to commemorate Italy's unification and the Garibaldi's efforts during the wars of independence. Along with a glorious bronze equestrian statue of Garibaldi and other sculptures, visitors can get an overview of the beautiful city of Verbania with its dramatic mountain setting. On either side of the Piazza are traditional Italian-style cafes and shops. This is an ideal spot to soak up the atmosphere of a real Italian city and learn about Italy's historical mementos.
