Matthias Church, also known as the Church of Our Lady, is a Roman Catholic church located near the Fisherman's Bastion in the Castle District of Budapest, Hungary. Built in the late 13th century, it is one of the most iconic landmarks of the city. Its colorful roof and many turrets are a photogenic sight. Inside, admire the stained-glass windows, the frescoes, the ornate Gothic chapel, and the gorgeous altar area. Climb the South Tower for an impressive view of the district. Make sure to visit the crypt, filled with a number of historical artifacts. It also holds special concerts and events throughout the year.
