
Matsumoto Castle, located in Matsumoto, Japan is one of the country’s oldest and most iconic castles. The castle is known as “The Crow Castle” and is unique for its black exterior. Built between 1590 and 1593, it is one of Japan’s 12 original castles and holds significant importance as a cultural and historical landmark. Matsumoto Castle is open to visitors for touring, and also has a museum on the premises. Inside the castle one can find excellent views of the cityscape and mountainous backdrop from above. The castle also boasts a large spacious park, perfect for strolling and enjoying the natural environment.
