Matadero Modelo and La Ruta de Salamone is situated in Villa Epecuén, a salt-water village deep in the heart of Argentina. Founded in 1919 and once boomed as a major tourist destination, the village saw its services flourish in response to the tourists it attracted. Today, a century later, the village is mostly in ruins, caused by the floods that changed the landscape of Villa Epecuén.
