Masjid Selat Melaka is a historic mosque located in Melaka, Malaysia. This mosque was built in 1728 and was the first grand mosque to be fitted with two minarets. The mosque stands on a man-made canal once used for trading and its intricately painted dome stands out when seen from a distance. Inside the mosque, visitors can admire the glowing stained glass windows and intricate plaster work. It’s located just off the waterfront, and the sight of its distinctive domes and white-washed facade reflected in the calm waters of the nearby pond is an unforgettable one. But it's not just its architectural beauty that's worth visiting; Masjid Selat Melaka also serves as an important cultural site within the Malaysian Islamic community.
