Marsaxlokk Harbour is the main port in Malta's fishing village of Marsaxlokk. It is renowned for its colorful boats and bustling markets. The harbour is fronted by a line of brightly painted fishing boats which are tethered in a neat line along the quay. Alongside the quay is a fish market which opens early in the morning to buy the morning's catch from the fishing boats. The harbour is also a great place to take a stroll and soak up the atmosphere of the village and the lively weekends here. Take a boat trip around the bay or have a glass of chilled beverage in one of the waterfront cafes and watch the fish auction. From the harbour, the Neo-Gothic Parish Church of St. Peter and Paul, domed in white and glass cupola is visible from a distance. There are souvenir and souvenir related shops here. The fish market is only open on weekdays, but the harbour and the village are enjoyable to explore on any day.
