Marsalforn
📍 From Beach, Malta
Marsalforn is a seafront fishing village located on Malta’s north coast, in the upmarket municipality of Iż-Żebbuġ. Its name is derived from Italian, as ‘porto di mare’, meaning ‘port of the sea’. This traditional village is situated along a narrow bay and is bordered by the rocky coastline of Saqqjija bay. With fishing being still part of everyday life, during summer colourful fishing boats and lobsters are dragged ashore from the crystal clear waters here. Sporting a large sandy beach, attractive sea promenade, and small, traditional restaurants this coastal village provides an authentic and traditional Maltese experience. Windsurfing and various water sports are popular activities in more summer months. An interesting feature on the small beach is the Chapel of our Lady of Lourdes, ideal for fine sunset views. In the center of the village lies a picturesque village square, surrounded by stone-arch covered streets and traditional white-washed houses. If you’re looking for an authentic experience, then Marsalforn is the place to go.
