📍 From Rathausbrunnen, Germany
Marktkirche St. Bonifacius stands in Stadtkirchenplatz, Bad Langensalza, Germany. It is a neo-Gothic Evangelical Lutheran church, built in the late 19th century. The church was designed by German architect Karl Benz and features red brickwork with rose and white sandstone detailing. The interior is an exquisite audiovisual experience, with its high stained-glass windows, impressive organ and atmospheric lighting. A climb up the 82-step staircase to the bell tower, the highest structure of the church, offers a stunning view of the town and its surroundings. The church is also famous for its open-air Nativity scene, which is built every year after the advent season has begun. The Nativity scene is a wonderful example of the traditional holiday decorations found in Thuringia. Visitors to the church can explore the cultural artwork found around its walls and take in this remarkable structure.
