📍 Croatia
Market Dolac is the main open-air market in Zagreb, Croatia’s capital. Located in Gradec, the upper town of Zagreb, Market Dolac has been the city’s bustling market place for over 250 years. Here you’ll find a range of fresh produce, including fruits, vegetables and plenty of traditional Croatian delicacies. Additionally, you’ll find cheese, spices, flowers and other goods like clothing, kitchenware, and souvenirs. It’s the perfect place to stroll through and soak up authentic atmosphere of Zagreb. Market Dolac is an especially good spot to try the Croatian version of burek, a traditional meat pie. There are plenty of burek vendors to choose from and with prices as low as 1.5 euros for a piece, it’s an affordable and highly enjoyable snack! Make sure to get to Market Dolac early since it’s busiest in the morning and closes around 1 pm.
