Marina Cay
📍 British Virgin Islands
Marina Cay is a compact private island just north of Beef Island, set among the sheltered channels and neighboring cays of the eastern British Virgin Islands. Its low, green hill rises from pale beaches and clear turquoise shallows, creating the layered composition characteristic of the area: reef tones in the foreground, anchored sailboats across the channel, and the higher outlines of Scrub Island and Great Camanoe beyond. The cay also has a literary connection through American writer Robb White’s memoir Our Virgin Island, which recounts his early life there with his wife and later inspired a film. With no road connection, Marina Cay is approached by boat, and its scale is best conveyed from the water, where the entire island can fit within a single frame.
