📍 Morocco
Marina Bouregreg occupies the Salé bank of the Bouregreg River near its Atlantic mouth, directly across the water from Rabat. The modern yacht basin and promenade form a striking counterpoint to the historic riverfronts of the twin cities, with Salé’s medina nearby and Rabat’s Kasbah of the Udayas visible across the channel. Sailboat masts, pale waterfront buildings, passing river craft, and long reflections give the scene its recognizable geometry, while the changing tide alters the patterns of water and exposed shoreline. From the quays, photographs can layer the marina’s clean lines against the ochre fortifications and dense urban skyline beyond.
