Marienkirche is a magnificent Gothic brick church in the heart of the medieval city of Lübeck. It is the most important building in the city, having served as its spiritual center since the 13th century and is one of the oldest in the region. Marienkirche stands tall with its imposing spires, 142 meters above sea level. It is visited by thousands of tourists every year and is a beautiful sight from the medieval city’s river tours and walks. Inside, you can admire its elaborate interior, filled with statues and grand decorations. Marienkirche was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987 and is one of the most visited attractions in the city.
