Marienbrücke is the pedestrian bridge that spans the Pöllat Gorge below Neuschwanstein Castle in Schwangau, offering the iconic framed view of the fairytale castle perched on its crag above steep limestone walls. The composition is unmistakable: the castle centered against the ridge, the gorge and its cascade visible beneath, and vertical rock textures that add dramatic scale. From the bridge you can isolate architectural symmetry of the castle against the natural cliffs or include the rushing water and trees for layered foreground interest; autumn foliage and winter snow change the palette markedly. The bridge is reached on foot via uphill paths from the castle area and is relatively narrow, so shots often include other visitors unless timed for quieter moments.
