Margam Country Park is a historic estate on the eastern edge of Port Talbot, where wooded hills open onto broad parkland overlooking Swansea Bay. Its layered landscape includes the ruins of the medieval Cistercian Margam Abbey, the elegant 18th-century Orangery and 19th-century Margam Castle, a Tudor Gothic mansion with towers, gables and an imposing entrance façade. Formal gardens, old stonework and roaming deer contrast with the nearby industrial coastline, giving the park a distinctive South Wales character.
