Manta Point is a boat-access diving and snorkeling site off the southern coast of Nusa Penida, within Bali’s Klungkung Regency. It is known for reef manta rays visiting cleaning stations, where smaller fish remove parasites as the mantas circle above the reef. Its defining images are underwater: broad, dark silhouettes gliding through blue-green water, often framed against pale rock and shafts of surface light; from the boat, Nusa Penida’s steep limestone coast adds a dramatic backdrop. Sightings are never guaranteed, and exposed-ocean swell and currents can be demanding, so trips are normally made with local operators and should suit the visitor’s swimming or diving experience. Mantas should be observed without touching, chasing, or blocking their path.
