Seen across the Hudson River from Jersey City’s waterfront, the Manhattan skyline forms a dense panorama of Lower Manhattan, anchored by One World Trade Center and the clustered towers of the Financial District. The view also reflects the shared harbor history of the two cities: former rail and industrial waterfronts now face one another across marinas, ferry routes, parks, and promenades. From Exchange Place and nearby stretches of the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway, the river provides open foreground and, in calm weather, broken reflections of the towers. Sunrise often silhouettes Manhattan, while late-day light reaches its west-facing glass and stone façades; after dark, illuminated windows, piers, and passing ferries give the scene its recognizable layered glow.
