📍 From Inside, United Kingdom
Manchester Town Hall is a grand 19th-century Gothic Revival building located in the city centre. It is one of the most important structures in the city and is a symbol of its rich industrial past. It was designed by architect Alfred Waterhouse in 1877. Visitors can explore the building, the Dining Room, the Chamber, the corridor and the Civic Square. It’s also the home of the Lord Mayor of Manchester, and hosts evening receptions, meetings and concerts. From the front, it is an impressive example of 19th-century civic architecture. At the rear of the Town Hall lies the spectacular Albert Square, which includes a number of sculptures, including the statue of Queen Victoria. Make sure to take plenty of photos of the exterior. There are also two parks nearby, Whitworth Park and Manchester Perfume Garden, which is free and open to the public.
