Malbork Castle is an impressive fortification located in Malbork, Poland. Built in the 13th century, this castle is a prime example of Gothic-style architecture. It was originally the residence of the Teutonic Order, and its intricate design, grandness and dominance over the horizon make it an impressive sight. The castle is made up of three distinct castles, each surrounded by high walls and towers, and linked by ditches, drawbridges and mazes of corridors, courtyards and chapels. Nowadays, the castle is a museum and open to visitors, although some areas are off limits. It is recommended to visit during the day and to book a guided tour in order to get the most benefit from the experience.
