📍 From Casa del Guardián de la Roca Funeraria, Peru
Machu Picchu is an iconic archaeological site perched 2,400 meters above sea level and the Incas' most spectacular ruin. It was built around 1450 and later abandoned during the Spanish conquests. It’s an awe-inspiring sight, surrounded by towering mountains and deep valleys overlaid in lush green jungle. Visitors can explore the ruins, including terraces, staircases, ramparts, water channels and plazas, as well as enjoy unbeatable views of the Sacred Valley below.

The Casa del Guardián de la Roca Funeraria, located in the nearby town of Aguas Calientes, is a small building with a unique monument within it. It is dedicated to a hero of the American continent, who was buried within it. The monument is believed to represent the fusion of Pre-Columbian and Catholic world views and symbolizes the process by which Peru’s Incan culture was assimilated into the Spanish colonial rule. The Casa is also a representation of the 19th century’s Renaissance of Peru's past.
