Luxor Temple, in the city of Luxor, Egypt, is a spectacularly well-preserved Ancient Egyptian temple complex. Built in the 14th century BC, the site features two large, grandly decorated courts, surrounded by smaller chambers and temple shrines. Inside the temple are beautiful carvings, hieroglyphs and painted reliefs, with open colonnades and bright blue skies overhead. Visit the Great Hypostyle Hall and be amazed by the 134 sandstone columns, each topped by a lotus-bud capital and carved with stunning images of pharaohs and their gods. The Coronation Hall is also a must-see with its walls covered in depictions of warfare and the processions of Ramses II. Don't miss the Great Court with its obelisks and religious statues of the Pharaoh Amenhotep III.
