Lübbenau is situated in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Lübbenau/Spreewald region in Germany. It is a pretty little town with numerous small canals criss-crossing the streets lined with half-timbered houses and a beautiful church from the 15th century. The town lies in a dense network of green canals and meadows, creating a tranquil atmosphere and making it a great place to explore.

It is easy to go for boat trips through the canals and islets that form the Elbe-Spree Wetlands. The region is renowned for its wide variety of flora and fauna, and its peaceful atmosphere is the perfect setting for a leisurely walk, cycling, or boating. The area is also one of the best locations in Germany for storks, which you can observe nesting in the treetops. From April onwards, the Art Festival and Juergen-Kiehnau-House additionally add to the picturesque atmosphere and there are many opportunities to sample the traditional Spreewald pickles, meats, and cheeses.
